Leclerc and Ferrari together up to 2029

Formula 1 is on winter break. Does this mean there is no news about Formula 1? Wrong! The last race of the 2023 season had just ended, and a completely unseasonal silly season emerged. Charles Leclerc signed a contract renewal with Ferrari with millionaire numbers.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Italian team has renewed the 26-year-old driver born in Monaco. The current contract expires at the end of next year. Therefore, Ferrari drew up a new contract that is valid until the end of 2029 with a 100% salary increase. According to the Italian publication, Leclerc will start receiving US$ 50 million per year in this new five-season contract.

Three-time world champion Max Verstappen receives almost the same amount at Red Bull.

The curiosity is that another 13 drivers have their contracts scheduled to end at the end of 2024:

- Leclerc's Ferrari teammate, Carlos Sainz;

- The Aston Martin drivers: Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll;

- The Alpine drivers: Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly;

- The Williams drivers: Alexander Albon and Logan Sargent (who just renewed for a year);

- The Alpha Tauri drivers: Yuki Tsunoda and Daniel Ricciardo;

- The Haas drivers: Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen;

- Chinese Alfa Romeo driver, Zhou Guanyu;

- Mexican Red Bull driver, Sergio Pérez.

Only Max Verstappen, Lewis Hamilton, George Russell, Lando Norris, Oscar Piastri and Valtteri Bottas will not have theirs names in 2024’s silly season.

There will be no shortage of emotions for the next season!
